UK: data breach at ICO

Report reveals increase in cases handled by ICO - and a data breach of its own.

The UK’s Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO) is responsible for protecting the UK’s private data.

In its latest report, it reveals it has dealt with a record number of cases and issued almost £2million in fines.

However, the report also reveals that the ICO itself was affected by a data security incident which was subject to an internal investigation.  Further information has not been released.
