The UK’s National Archive has revealed that over 400 government documents have been unaccounted for since 2012.

The National Archives holds over 11 million documents from the UK’s government departments.  The missing documents include:

  • A 1947 letter from Winston Churchill
  • Treasury minutes dating from 1973 exploring economic and monetary union in Europe
  • A Home Office file about Suffragette activity in 1910

The National Archives has said it is running a ‘robust’ programme to track down the missing records.
