The value of a visit to the library

Research partnership puts value on public libraries.

4000 library users in the UK were surveyed as part of the research conducted by Archives, Libraries and Museums Alliance UK (ALMA-UK).  The findings show that library users placed a theoretical value of £24-£27 on each library visit.

The research also shows how public libraries can boost local economies.  ALMA-UK has produced a toolkit to help libraries demonstrate their value.
