Springer's API Challenge winners

Springer has announced the winners of its research-focused API Challenge 2.0

The second Springer API challenge asked programmers to create apps to facilitate the discovery and manipulation of Springer data.  Metadata for almost five million documents from books and journals, along with full-text content and images, were made available for the challenge.

The first prize was won by Kleenk which enables researchers to discover connections between different types of content and share and comment on them.

Second prize went to Visual Navigator which lets Springer subscribers carry out real time visual similarity searches.
