The Sony Corporation has announced that it is expanding its online bookstore (Reader Store) into European markets.
Reader Store, which offers eBook, magazine, comic and newspaper content, will launch in the UK before the end of October 2011 and into Germany and Austria by the end of the year. Further expansion will see Reader Store launching in France, Italy and Spain in early 2012.
Reader Store launched in Canada and the US in 2006 and has already expanded to Japan.
Sony has also announced that the launch of its new Wi-Fi enabled Reader eBook device which will provide on-device access to the eBook catalogues of selected public libraries in the UK and north America.
