Scotland: National Library lists lost documents

Over 300 documents went missing between 2014 and 2015.

The National Library of Scotland, which holds approximately 2.5 million items, has been conducting a content audit since 2013.

The Library has identified over 2,800 documents as "lost or misplaced" from its collections.

Missing items include a rare declaration made by William of Orange to the Scottish people in 1689; a volume of Scottish witchcraft cases and a 1939 pamphlet written by Josef Goebbels.

The Library is one of six legal deposit libraries in the UK and Ireland.
