Peer review information available from IOP

IOP Publishing has announced a new peer review information module for its online papers.

IOP Publishing (Institute of Physics) surveyed 11,500+ researchers and found that a clear majority of them wanted to know if the paper they were reading had been peer reviewed.  Many researchers also said it was helpful to see what peer review method(s) had been used (single or double blind); whether an originality check had been conducted, and the number of revisions on each paper.

This information is now displayed in the ‘article information’ section on the website.

The data is available for articles in all IOP Publishing-owned journals.
