Pearson reports strong growth in digital

Pearson's preliminary 2010 results show strong growth in digital revenues.


Pearson's total revenues were up 8% in 2010 to £5.66 billion while digital revenues were up £1.6 billion, forming 29% of total sales.

The FT Group posted revenues of £403 million, a 12% rise.   Paid-for digital subscriptions were up 50% in 2010 and over 900,000 FT apps were downloaded to mobile phones or tablet devices.  Digital services account for 40% of FT Group revenues.

Penguin's revenues increased by 2%  to just over £1 billion.  E-book revenues increased by 182% and accounted for 6% of worldwide revenues.
