Competition authorities in the US and Europe have given the go-ahead to the proposed merger between Nature Publishing Group, Palgrave Macmillan, Macmillan Education and Springer Science+Business Media. The new company, called Springer Nature, has said it aims to grow and innovate to better serve academic researchers, students, teachers, institutions, professionals and the wider public.
The move was originally annouced at the beginning of 2015.
