Mendeley announces app contest
Mendeley, the academic research tool, is offering a $10,001 prize for a winning app.

Mendeley providers researchers with reference management facilities and also enables online collaboration. The database holds over 70 million research papers, social tags and demographics and is capable of tracking research topic trends.
The prize is to encourage app developers to create apps on top of Mendley's open database. The contest deadline is 31 August 2011.
