Library of Congress makes 25 million records available for download

Largest release of digital records in Library of Congress history.


The records will be made available for bulk download. The data covers a wide range of Library items (books, serials, computer files, manuscripts, maps, music and visual materials) from 1968-2014. Included in the collection are over 50,000 index cards of jokes from the Phyllis Diller archives and 8000 document from Eleanor Roosevelt’s My Day columns.

The Library also worked with two universities to run hack to learn workshops for librarians, researchers and coders to explore how the data could be used.
