Libraries and the UN: a call for input

IFLA is calling for input and examples from libraries around the world.

The Member States of the United Nations (UN) have now agreed on the final version of its new Development Agenda, Transforming our world: the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development. This follows three years of work with input from many stakeholders, one of which was IFLA.

Now IFLA is planning to develop a booklet that will explore the role of libraries in delivering the 2030 Agenda.  The booklet will provide an overview of the 17 sustainable development goals of the 2030 Agenda and will feature examples of library programmes that contribute to specific targets.

How can you help?

IFLA is looking for examples of library programmes – from all sectors – to include in the booklet.  You can find out more about the type of examples being sought and how to submit your suggestions here.
