'Information Visualization' moves to Sage

Sage has acquired four journals from Palgrave Macmillan as both publishers seek to focus their publishing programmes.

The four titles are:

  • Information Visualization
  • Journal of Generic Medicines
  • Journal of Medical Marketing
  • Tourism and Hospitality Research

Information Visualization is an international, peer-reviewed journal that covers theories, methodologies, techniques and evaluations of information visualization and its applications.

Palgrave Macmillan divested the titles after a strategic review of its scholarly journals publishing activities.   David Bull, publishing director, Palgrave Macmillan, Journals & Reference, said: "We wanted to identify the areas and disciplines in which we wish to continue to develop, build and invest (the social sciences, business and the humanities), but also the areas in which we can step back, thus allowing focus on our strengths."

For Sage, the journals will support new and growing areas of research while the medical journals will enhance its growing list of medical and clinical titles.

Sage will work with the journals' existing editors to develop the four journals.
