Germany's Financial Times to close

The Financial Times Deutschland is being closed down after 12 years.

The publisher Gruner + Jahr is closing down the loss-making Financial Times Deutschland (FTD). Launched in 2000, the newspaper has a circulation of approximately 100,000 but has never made a profit.

Advertising revenue for newspapers in Germany is continuing to fall.
