France: mobile phone ban in schools

A complete ban on mobile phones will be introduced in 2018.


France’s education minister has confirmed that mobile phones will be completely banned in French schools from September 2018. 

French pupils are already banned from using their phones in classrooms, but from 2018 the ban will be extended to breaks and lunch times. 

In other tech news from France, legislation is being considered that will require children under the age of 16 to obtain parental approval to open an account on Facebook and other networking sites.
