Europe and Canada: Facebook Moments launched after privacy delay

App released with some features removed.

In 2015, the launch of Facebook’s app Moments was delayed in Canada and Europe due to concerns that facial recognition features breached privacy laws (reported here).

Now, Moments has been launched with a different version of the software which does not use facial recognition.  Rather than the app automatically tagging faces, the user will be required to do the tagging.
