Dave Pattern wins Information Professional of the Year

Library Systems Manager from University of Huddersfield selected for honour

The winner of this year's IWR Information Professional of the Year award is Dave Pattern of the University of Huddersfield. The award was presented last night at the Online Information conference.

Pattern was judged for being a source of inspiration to those working across libraries and technology. His work analysing the usage of library resources at Huddersfield which informed the creation of new services and recommendations for students was particularly singled out.

Taking this one step further. Pattern and his colleagues identified a strong positive correlation between library usage and the final grades achieved by students.

Each year, the award is organised by IWR magazine along with the organisers of the Online Information conference. The judges this year included information experts and previous winners Karen Blakeman, Neil Infield, Euan Semple, Brian Kelly, Tony Hirst and Hazel Hall.
