CourseSmart launches in the UK

The US digital textbook rental service will target UK students.

Launched in the US in 2007, CourseSmart will allow students to rent, annotate and save digital texts online.

The UK business is being led by Fionnuala Duggan, who was previously Digital Director of Random House.  In the US the company works with approximately 30 publishers and the UK company will aim for a similar number.

CourseSmart aims to have 7,000 titles available by September 2012.
