British Library gaming winner announced

Gothic exhibition inspires 3D game.

The Off The Map competition run by the British Library, Crytek and GameCity offers prizes to UK students for developing games inspired by the collections of the British Library.

The winning entry is called Nix and was created by three students from the University of South Wales.

The game requires players to reconstruct the now demolished Fonthill Abbey, considered to be a masterpiece of Gothic architecture.  The winners used original drawings and maps of the estate as well as sounds held in the British Library’s collections.
