The launch follows on from the the retailer's move into Italy at the end of 2010.
The site, launched on 14 September, is offering a large inventory of books, DVDs and electronic products. The Kindle, however, will not be made available in Spain until later in 2011.
Analysts, quoted by Reuters, are predicting that Amazon is embarking on a new period of international expansion.
