France: new bill aims to protect bookshops

The French government’s attempts to protect French bookshops in the Amazon age are continuing.

The French government has unanimously approved a bill to which sets out to address what it deems unfair competition from online bookstores including Amazon.

As previously reported here, the bill will seek to restrict online sellers from combining discounts and free delivery.
