Following on from the 24 hour hackathons it sponsored in 2011, Elsevier has launched a series of application development competitions for scientists, researchers and developers. The apps should increase research productivity and enhance the scientific discovery processes.
CodeForScience Turkey (the first competition) is already underway and is co sponsored by the publisher and the Middle East Technical University (Ankara, Turkey). Entries will be judged by IM experts and professors from a number of Turkish universities, Informascope and Elsevier.
